Day 1 — Arrival at Canning • Boat Transfer • Check-in • Evening Program
Your journey begins at Canning Railway Station, where our representative will welcome you and assist with boarding the transfer vehicle to the jetty. From the jetty, you’ll board a comfortable motor boat and begin a scenic cruise through the mangrove-lined creeks toward Sundarban.
As the boat slips through narrow channels, watch for egrets, kingfishers and other river birds. The changing light on the water and dense mangrove walls create a memorable first impression of the delta. Midday you arrive at your eco-resort or houseboat and complete check-in formalities.
A freshly prepared lunch with local flavors will be served. After lunch, enjoy a relaxed short buffer-zone safari by boat to explore the nearby creeks and experience the unique tidal ecology of Sundarban. This gentle excursion gives you a first taste of wildlife and the island life.
In the evening return to the resort/boat for a cultural welcome — a local folk/tribal dance and a small bonfire (season/weather permitting). Savour a traditional dinner under the open sky and settle into your comfortable accommodation for a peaceful night in the mangrove heartland.
Day 2: Full Day Jungle Safari & Watchtower Experience
Begin early with a hot cup of tea or coffee as the mangrove sunrise paints the creeks gold. After a light snack and briefing, depart for the full morning boat safari (forest permits included). Your experienced naturalist guide will navigate narrow creeks and point out wildlife and plant species along the way.
Key stops (subject to park regulations and water/permit conditions):
Sajnekhali (Interpretation Centre): Learn about mangrove ecology, and if time allows, visit the centre to understand local conservation efforts.
Sudhanyakhali Watchtower area: A prime spot for sightings of deer, crocodiles and sometimes elusive signs of the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Scenic creek passages: Navigate smaller waterways for close-up views of birdlife and riverbank scenes.
During the morning safari you’ll be served breakfast and light refreshments. After the wildlife cruise, disembark for a short village walk (time permitting) to meet local fishermen, see traditional stilt-huts, and observe daily life shaped by tides and mangroves.
By late morning / early afternoon, begin the return cruise to the Canning jetty. You will be transferred to Canning Railway Station for your onward journey, arriving with fresh memories and photographs of the Sundarban wilderness.
